Strap for ProPilot Altimeter Carbon / Feet

The lug width of the Oris ProPilot 01 793 7775 8734-Set is 23 millimetres. This non-standard dimension requires specific attention when selecting a replacement strap; it is not compatible with conventional 20mm or 24mm dimensions. Measurement is performed using a digital calliper, positioning the gauge perpendicular to the internal metal pins of the lugs and measuring the linear distance between their centres.

There is no universally 'best' choice—it depends on application. For elegant and formal contexts, we recommend vegetable-tanned alligator or tannic calf; for actual flight environments or marine conditions, a nylon NATO strap offers maximum reliability and rapid visual inspection of the lugs. Vulcanised rubber represents the extreme technical compromise: zero maintenance, absolute resistance to temperature and humidity.

Removing the old strap requires extraction of the lug pins: use a spring bar tool to compress the metal coil slightly and slide the pin out of the lug hole. Align the new strap's attachments with the holes, then reintroduce the pin, ensuring it clicks fully into position. Verify that no lateral play exists.
