The Constellation 131.55.28.60.99.005 (aka: 13155286099005), seen from the bench

The Constellation Manhattan 28 Quartz Sedna Gold Diamond features the iconic Omega design since 1952, with characteristic "griffes" on the case, Roman numeral bezel, and Co-Axial precision movement. This 28mm timepiece is crafted in Sedna Gold, Omega's proprietary 18k rose gold alloy with copper and palladium. The integrated precious metal bracelet is integral to the watch's architecture and design integrity.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a standard strap on the Omega Constellation 131.55.28.60.99.005?

No. The bracelet is integrated into the case — there are no standard lugs where you can attach a strap. I have watched too many people search for improvised solutions: there is only one answer — bespoke construction in the atelier, modelling the attachment directly onto the original case.

How does the bespoke strap work for this model?

Come and visit me at Casati Milano, by appointment only. I take measurements directly from the case and study how the leather must engage with the lugs. It is not standard work — every millimetre matters for this Constellation.

Which leather do you recommend for the Omega Constellation Sedna Gold?

Mississippi alligator, polished. This Constellation is both sporty and elegant — the reptile texture dialogues with the griffe lines on the case, and the polished patina reflects that warm Sedna naturally. Swift and Barenia are alternatives, but alligator is what convinces me most for this watch.

How long does a well-made strap last?

It depends on use and care. A fine leather, crafted properly, lasts me between 5 and 10 years on the wrist. It ages beautifully if you protect it from water and let it breathe. I have straps that are 7 years old on my clients' wrists and still look young — that is craftsmanship that lives.

Why is the Co-Axial movement in this Constellation important?

It is Omega's technical signature — no traditional escapement, but different mechanics that reduce friction in the balance wheel. I have dismantled dozens of Constellations: I feel the character of the movement immediately, the fluidity of the wind. A Sedna case would deserve an ordinary movement, but Omega made no compromises here.
