Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a standard strap on the MB&F Horological Machines 90.RL.AB?

No, the bracelet is integrated into the case and the attachments are not standard. A conventional strap simply won't fit. For this model I work at Casati Milano, where I craft the strap directly onto your architecture, made to measure.

How does the custom strap process work for the Horological Machines?

I meet you at Casati Milano, by appointment only. I study the case in person, take precise measurements from the lugs, understand the angle and geometry. Then I craft a strap built specifically for your watch.

Which leather do you recommend for this model?

I prefer Mississippi Black Alligator. This MB&F has a mechanical character, a constructive power: the deep grain and contrast of black alligator honour that rawness. If you want something that evolves over time, natural Barenia develops a patina that pairs beautifully with the machine's radicality.

How long does a well-made strap last?

It depends on how you wear it and how you care for it. On average, a strap in quality leather lasts 4–6 years of daily use. The best leather ages: it develops character, small creases, a story. Occasionally wipe the strap with a damp cloth and let it breathe. A good strap isn't in a hurry to die.

Why does a work by Maximilian Büsser deserve a custom strap?

Because a Horological Machines is not a traditional watch. The three-dimensional geometry, the sculpture of the case, the exposed movement—everything rejects standardisation. Fitting it with a generic strap would be like trusting the sculpture to compromise. It deserves the same rigour Büsser poured into designing it.

The next step

The right strap isn't chosen. It is built, together.

From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
