Frequently asked questions

Can you fit a standard strap to this MB&F Horological Machines 56.STDL.B?

No, the bracelet is integrated directly into the case. There's no standard lug attachment. In my atelier I craft the strap bespoke, studying the case geometry and building it directly onto your watch.

How does the bespoke strap creation work for this model?

We work by appointment only at Casati Milano. I take measurements directly from the case, analysing the sculptural lugs and three-dimensional architecture. Then I build the strap piece by piece, tailored to your specific watch.

Which leather do you recommend for a watch like this?

I favour Mississippi alligator if you want sportiness with refined elegance. The tight grain of the leather dialogues well with the sculptural surfaces of titanium and steel. Aged Barenia is the alternative if you love the patina that develops over time.

How long does a handmade strap like yours last?

With daily wear and minimal care — the occasional clean, no standing water — it easily lasts 5-8 years. The leather ages beautifully, developing patina and character. You can always bring it back to me for regeneration or restoration.

Why does this watch require a different strap than most others?

The HM56 is built with sculptural lugs integrated into the case that challenge classical watchmaking. That audacious three-dimensional architecture deserves a strap crafted with the same radical approach — not a standard fitting. That's why I create it bespoke, on the watch itself.

The next step

The right strap isn't chosen. It is built, together.

From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
