The Horological Machines 36.SVL.PU, seen from the bench

The MB&F Horological Machine HM3 features the HM3 in-house caliber with hours, minutes, day/night, date, and power reserve indication. The movement is characterized by a three-dimensional architecture with indicators positioned on different levels. The 36.SVL.PU reference is part of the Horological Machines collection that explores unconventional forms in high-end watchmaking.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a standard strap to the MB&F Horological Machines 36.SVL.PU?

No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the sapphire case — there are no proprietary lugs where a standard strap would attach. For this model, I work in the atelier: I craft a bespoke strap, shaping the attachments directly onto the case geometry.

How does bespoke strap-making work for this watch?

You visit Casati Milano, by appointment only. I take measurements directly from your case, studying every angle of the sapphire structure. From there, I build the attachments by hand, calibrating them precisely to your specific case.

Which leather do I recommend for this model?

I prefer translucent Mississippi alligator or ultra-thin Swift. This watch is pure architecture, sapphire glass that breathes — a heavy leather would betray it. I look for materials that don't diminish the visual lightness of the design.

How long does a well-made strap last?

With proper care, 8–12 years of daily wear. Leather evolves: it patinas, softens. It ages beautifully if you respect it — once a year, a light cream conditioning, avoid standing water. Then back to the atelier for a touch-up, if needed.

Why does the MB&F require bespoke work?

Because it is industrial sculpture first, conventional watch second. The 496 hours of labour and 11 sapphire blocks create radical, asymmetric geometry. No standard attachment respects that total transparency — it takes bench craft to integrate without betrayal.

The next step

The right strap isn't chosen. It is built, together.

From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
