I prefer robust, tight-grained leather — calf or cordovan — that handles sporty use and speaks to the watch's alpine character. Leather that ages well, that develops patina rather than breaking down.

With care, a quality strap lasts 4–6 years of daily wear. The leather ages, the colour deepens. Clean it occasionally, let it see the sun, and it gains character instead of deteriorating.

It's a refined construction choice — the bracelet dialogues organically with the case, like one thing. It makes the watch more rigid and cohesive, but it means every modification must be thought through bespoke, not with off-the-shelf parts.
