I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the geometry of the attachment point, and take measurements directly from the case. I do not work from technical sheets or photographs: every millimetre is read from the original piece.

I choose natural Barenia. It is a leather that holds its character over time — it does not soften too quickly, and it develops a restrained patina that pairs well with the hardness of the ceramic and the warmth of the red gold. For a watch with this dual personality, sporting and formal at once, Barenia finds the right balance.

With quality leather and basic care, I count on five to seven years of regular use, sometimes more. Barenia and vegetable-tanned Tuscan leather do not degrade: they transform. The first creases, the darkening at the edges, the mark of time at the wrist — these are signs of use, not flaws. I keep the strap away from water and condition it every few months with a neutral grease: that is all it takes.

The Rouleaux bracelet has a round-link geometry, with a profile that meets the case in a non-linear way. There is no off-the-shelf attachment to buy and fit: I must build every part of the connection by hand, checking the alignment with the ceramic and red gold at every step. It takes time, but that is precisely why it is worth doing properly.
