Frequently asked questions

What is the lug width of the Breitling Chronomat Evolution A1335611/M512?

The Breitling Chronomat Evolution A1335611/M512 has a lug width of 20mm. This measurement is consistent across the Chronomat Evolution line with a 43.7mm case and determines compatibility with any 20mm aftermarket strap.

What is the best strap for the Breitling Chronomat Evolution A1335611/M512?

The choice depends on intended use and aesthetic preference. For a sport-elegant look, alligator leather or vegetable-tanned calf are the most appreciated options. For water or sports use, vulcanised rubber or nylon NATO straps are more appropriate. On a black dial, a midnight blue or tobacco brown strap pairs particularly well.

How do you change the strap on a Breitling Chronomat Evolution A1335611/M512?

To remove the integrated bracelet or an aftermarket strap, a fine-tipped spring bar tool is required. The spring bars in the Chronomat Evolution lugs are standard 20mm bars. It is advisable to work on a soft cloth to avoid scratching the case, and to ensure the bar tips are correctly seated in the lug holes before closing.

Are there aftermarket straps compatible with the Breitling Chronomat Evolution A1335611/M512?

Yes, any strap with a 20mm attachment is technically compatible with the Chronomat Evolution A1335611/M512. Milano Straps offers a selection of handcrafted straps in various materials — alligator, calf, shell cordovan, NATO, rubber — all available in 20mm lug width and suitable for pairing with the stainless steel case of this model.

How long does a leather strap last on a Breitling Chronomat Evolution?

Longevity depends on the material and care. A vegetable-tanned calf strap, properly maintained, typically lasts 2–4 years with daily wear. Shell cordovan, being denser and more compact, can exceed 5 years if not exposed to prolonged moisture. Alligator leather retains its aesthetic longer but requires periodic conditioning with appropriate creams. Milano Straps straps carry an 18-month warranty against manufacturing defects.
