The bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The attachment is proprietary, conceived by AP as part of the case architecture itself. To fit a leather strap, it must be built to measure, working directly on the case. That is precisely what I do in my atelier.

Bring the watch with you: I take measurements directly from the case, study the angles and curves of the attachment, then build the strap around that specific geometry. I never work from theoretical measurements or photographs.

For a watch with this character — sporty, muscular, with no concessions to formality — I prefer aged Barenia leather. It hardens with use, develops a personal patina, and holds its own against the robust aesthetics of the case without softening them. It is a leather that grows alongside the watch, not one that dresses it down.

A strap built from top-quality hide and hand-stitched will easily last five to seven years of daily wear — even longer with proper care. Let it dry after contact with perspiration, keep it away from prolonged moisture, and occasionally apply a neutral conditioner. Leather ages: it does not deteriorate, it transforms. In the end it tells the story of the wrist that wore it.

The larger case, the ceramic, the titanium: these were not common materials in haute horlogerie back then. I have seen many luxury sports watches over the years, but few have maintained that consistency of character for thirty years.
