Strap for Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph Titanium

Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case: there are no standard lugs to which an off-the-shelf strap can be attached. The only option is to have a strap made to measure, directly on the watch, which is exactly what I do in the atelier.

I work exclusively through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, my atelier at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan, by appointment only. I take the watch to the bench, measure directly from the case and shape every attachment element millimetre by millimetre. There is no other way: the geometry of the AP integrated attachment system leaves no room for approximation.

For a watch with this character — titanium, ceramic, 44mm, sporting yet built with extreme technical care — I choose XXL-scale Mississippi Alligator. It holds its own visually against the mass of the case, ages with dignity and carries the same tension between toughness and refinement that defines this watch. Hand-aged Barenia is my second choice: more understated, but with a depth that grows over time.

With the leathers I use in the atelier and basic care — keeping it away from water, letting it breathe between wearings — a well-constructed strap lasts five to eight years of regular use. Alligator and Barenia do not degrade: they transform. The creases, the colour shifting in the light — these are signs of life, not flaws.

The Royal Oak was born in 1972 as a slim sporting watch. The Offshore arrived in 1993 and pushed everything to the extreme: larger case, more technical materials, a physical presence that is impossible to ignore. I have seen many sporting watches over the years, but few manage to be both raw and rigorously built at the same time. It is not a variant — it is an entirely different statement of intent.
