No. The bracelet is integrated into the case: the attachment is proprietary and a standard strap simply cannot connect physically. This is a design choice, not a limitation. At the atelier, I build every strap directly on the watch, bespoke, with no compromises.

The watch comes to the bench, I take measurements directly from the case and hand-shape the attachments so the strap dialogues with the original octagonal architecture. I choose Mississippi Alligator: it has a clean scale pattern, serious long-term durability and holds its own against the muscular character of this watch without looking out of place. As an alternative, multi-year vegetable-tanned Tuscan leather ages honestly and gains character with daily wear. I avoid overly delicate leathers — they are simply not suited to a watch built to be worn hard.

With quality leather and sound construction, I expect at least five to seven years of regular use. Care is straightforward: keep it away from prolonged water exposure and occasionally condition the leather with a neutral product. Alligator and Barenia age by developing a patina that tells the story of time worn — they do not deteriorate, they transform.

In 1993 this watch was called the 'Beast', because it pushed Genta's integrated design language past every acceptable boundary. Whoever wears it today inherits that choice: this is a watch that takes up space on the wrist and does not ask permission. I often see it paired poorly, with anonymous straps that contradict its character. A bespoke strap, built with the same technical care as the case itself, restores coherence to the whole.
