No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no standard lug to attach an aftermarket strap. The attachment geometry is proprietary to Audemars Piguet. The only viable solution is to build a bespoke strap, directly on the watch.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, in Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements from the actual case and build the attachment from scratch, calibrated to the specific geometry of this model. I do not use generic templates: every piece is born from that precise watch.

For a watch with this sporting character and visual weight, I prefer coarse-grain calfskin or natural ostrich leather. They hold their own against the guilloché Tapisserie without disappearing beneath it. I keep overly refined or smooth leathers away from this one: it needs character, not delicacy.

With basic care — keeping it away from direct water, letting it breathe between wears — I have seen well-built straps last a comfortable eight to ten years. Quality leather does not deteriorate: it ages, developing a personal patina that tells the story of its use. That is one of the things I value most about handcrafted work over industrial products.

Gérald Genta drew the Royal Oak in 1972 as a sporting steel watch. The Offshore, which came decades later, took that same architecture — octagonal bezel, visible hexagonal screws, Tapisserie — and pushed it onto a larger, more aggressive scale. I have seen many examples on the bench: the 37mm case of the 26231ST strikes an interesting balance, more restrained than the more extreme formats in the Offshore family.
