The bracelet is integrated into the case: a standard strap simply does not attach. The lug system is proprietary, designed to merge organically with the octagonal case geometry. An off-the-shelf aftermarket strap is not an option here. I build each strap to measure, directly on the watch, at the atelier.

I work through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the attachment geometry and take every measurement directly from the case. There are no templates: each piece is built from scratch on that specific watch.

For an Offshore I go straight to matte Mississippi alligator, without hesitation. The Offshore has a bold, sporting character, and a natural, non-lacquered grain holds up to that language far better than any polished leather. I avoid anything too formal: this case has a strong architectural presence and the strap needs to match it, not soften it.

With a first-rate leather and solid construction, five to eight years of regular wear is a realistic horizon. The key is care: dry the strap after contact with perspiration, let it breathe, avoid folding it at the same point repeatedly. Alligator ages by developing a patina that tells the story of its use — it does not deteriorate, it acquires character.

The exposed hexagonal bezel and the octagonal case geometry are not decorative choices: they are structural ones. The bracelet does not attach to the case — it grows out of it. Any intervention on the attachment therefore requires a prior study of the form, not a standard measurement. That is precisely why I never work on these pieces remotely: I need the watch in front of me.
