The bracelet on this Royal Oak Offshore is integrated into the case, with proprietary attachments. A standard strap simply will not fit: the geometry does not allow it. That is precisely why I work on every strap directly on the watch, in the atelier, made to measure.

I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I take measurements directly from the case at the bench — no templates, no guesswork. Every lug is shaped by hand to integrate with the original geometry of the Offshore.

For this model I go straight to Mississippi Alligator. The Offshore has a bold, sporting character, and alligator holds its own without being overwhelmed by it. I prefer a matte finish: it wears better on an active wrist and ages with more personality.

With basic care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure, letting it dry after perspiration — a well-constructed strap lasts five to eight years of daily wear. Good leather does not deteriorate: it transforms. After a few years, it starts to tell a story.

The Offshore was born in 1993 as a more muscular evolution of Gérald Genta's Royal Oak. The octagonal bezel is oversized, the steel case is more assertive on the wrist, and the character is openly sporting. It is not a step back from the original: it is a different choice, a louder one. Over the years I have noticed that those who choose it know exactly what they want.
