The Royal Oak Offshore 26048SK.ZZ.D035CA.01, seen from the bench

The Royal Oak Offshore 26048SK is a 37mm stainless steel chronograph featuring the iconic octagonal case architecture introduced in 1993. This Lady model represents the contemporary interpretation of the Offshore code with compact yet decisive proportions and integrated attachments. The watch maintains the heritage of the original Genta design while redefining luxury sports watchmaking.

Frequently asked questions

Can a standard strap be fitted to the Royal Oak Offshore 26048SK.ZZ.D035CA.01?

No. The bracelet is integrated into the case and the lugs have a proprietary geometry. A standard strap simply will not attach: the octagonal shape and shaped terminals leave no room for universal solutions. I build each strap to measure, directly on the watch, in the atelier.

How does the bespoke strap service work for this model?

I work exclusively through Casati Milano, by appointment at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements from the actual case and build each terminal by hand so it fits with precision. There are no shortcuts: the Offshore geometry demands time and careful attention.

Which leather do I recommend for the Royal Oak Offshore in steel and rubber?

I prefer naturally aged Barenia. It has a dense texture, ages with real character and holds its own against this watch's sporting DNA without looking out of place on a dressed-up wrist. Mississippi alligator is a strong second choice for those who want more visual structure.

How long does a well-made strap last on a watch like this?

With basic care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure and letting it breathe — a quality leather strap easily lasts five to seven years. Barenia in particular improves over time: it takes the shape of the wrist and develops a personal patina. It is not a consumable.

Is the Royal Oak Offshore truly that different from the original Royal Oak?

Introduced in 1993, it was born as a provocation: larger, bolder, with a wrist presence that was genuinely unsettling at the time. Genta had designed the Royal Oak as a challenge to steel in sporting watchmaking; the Offshore raised the stakes further. I have seen many wrists wearing both — the character is genuinely different, it is not simply a matter of proportions.
