Not in the traditional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case: the lugs are part of the watch's own architecture, and a standard strap simply has no way to attach. The only option is to build a bespoke fitting directly on the watch, at the atelier.

I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the geometry of the attachments, and build every connecting element by hand, shaped around that specific case. There are no templates: each piece is made from scratch for that particular watch.

For a Royal Oak Offshore in yellow gold, my choice is Mississippi Alligator: the scale structure is bold, almost architectural, and it speaks to the octagonal bezel without mimicking it. Barenia is a solid alternative for those who prefer something quieter, but on this watch I favour a leather with real visual character. Yellow gold calls for a degree of confidence.

With basic care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure and conditioning the leather twice a year — I easily reach five or six years of daily wear. Alligator and Barenia age well: they develop a patina that tells the story of the time worn, rather than degrading. An industrial strap fails sooner; one built with selected leather and solid stitching holds up.

The design is by Emmanuel Gueit, who in 1993 took Gérald Genta's original concept and pushed it towards dimensions and volumes that seemed excessive at the time — in the best possible way. Compared to the original Royal Oak, the Offshore has a more imposing case and an immediate physical presence. It is not a watch worn quietly: it asserts a precise aesthetic. In yellow gold, that statement is even more pronounced.
