No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no standard lug to attach a traditional strap. This is a design constraint, not a limitation. In the atelier I build the attachment bespoke, shaped on the actual watch, so the final result sits in harmony with the original octagonal geometry.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. Bring the watch to the atelier: I take measurements directly from the case, build the attachment by hand, and we choose the leather and finish together. I do not work from photographs or declared measurements — I need the watch in front of me.

For a watch with this character — sporty, muscular, built to be noticed — I prefer calf leather or alligator with a matte or lightly textured finish. I avoid overly glossy leathers: they clash with the Offshore's DNA. A dark colour, anthracite or black, holds better over time and works with the steel without competing against it.

With quality leather and solid construction, five to seven years is a realistic target — sometimes more. It depends greatly on how it is worn: summer heat, perspiration, and the pressure of the buckle all take their toll. Care is straightforward — keep it dry, avoid forcing the fold — and over time the leather develops a patina that tells something about the person wearing it. What wears first is almost always the inner lining: a sign that the outer structure is holding up.

In 1993, Audemars Piguet wanted to push Gérald Genta's Royal Oak concept in a more extreme, more physically assertive direction. They increased the dimensions, sharpened the volumes, made everything more deliberate. The connection to the Royal Oak remains in the structural logic — the octagon, the visible hexagonal screws — but the character is something else entirely. I have seen many watches from that generation: the 25721ST has a presence on the wrist that later, more refined models do not always replicate.
