Strap for Royal Oak Offshore Diver Stainless Steel / Purple

The bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach an off-the-shelf strap. This is not a limitation — it is a precise design decision by Audemars Piguet. The only solution is to build a strap from scratch, directly on the watch, in the atelier.

I work on this Royal Oak Offshore exclusively at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the case geometry and model the strap from zero — every curve, every thickness calibrated on the actual case. No generic templates: every piece is one of a kind.

For a watch with this character — sporting, built to endure — I choose Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather. It ages with wear, develops a personal patina over time and holds up well on an active wrist. If something more refined and understated is preferred, Barenia is my second choice: it transforms beautifully over the years.

A properly built strap, in quality leather, easily lasts five or six years of regular wear — sometimes more. Care matters: keep it away from excess water and condition the leather occasionally. Vegetable-tanned leathers do not degrade — they transform, and after a few years they look better than when they were new.

The Offshore was born in 1993 as a larger, more assertive version, designed for those who want a stronger presence on the wrist. The case is more substantial, the Méga Tapisserie dial has a bolder texture compared to the Petite Tapisserie of the classic Royal Oak. The eight visible screws on the hexagonal bezel are the same — but here everything is amplified. This is a watch that does not try to go unnoticed.
