Strap for Royal Oak Offshore Diver Stainless Steel / Turquoise

The bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach a traditional strap. This is not a limitation — it is a proprietary geometry that requires a different approach. In the atelier, I build the attachment bespoke, directly on the watch.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the geometry of the case, and shape every attachment by hand. There are no templates: each piece is born from the watch in front of me.

For a watch with this character — steel case, sporting soul, strong presence — I choose Mississippi Alligator in large scale. It holds its own against the mass of the case without disappearing. The alternative is a naturally aged Barenia: less exuberant, but with a dignity that grows over time.

A strap built with top-grade leather and hand-stitched easily lasts five, eight, even ten years if treated with care. Leather needs air, dislikes standing water, and benefits from an occasional application of wax. Alligator tends to stiffen with age; Barenia, on the other hand, softens and takes on the shape of the wrist — it becomes more beautiful with time.

The Royal Oak was born in 1972 as a sporting steel watch — a provocation for its era. The Offshore arrived in 1993 and pushed everything further: a larger case, a more aggressive presence, an octagonal crown that becomes almost a sculptural element. It is not an update — it is a separate statement of intent. I have seen many watches pass through my hands: few have this ability to occupy the wrist so deliberately.
