No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the rose gold case: there is no standard lug to attach a conventional strap. This was a deliberate design decision by Gérald Genta, not a technical limitation you can work around with adapters. Replacing it requires a piece built from scratch, on that specific watch.

I work on this model exclusively through the atelier <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the case, and build the attachment by hand, millimetre by millimetre. There is no template: every piece is made from the ground up on that particular example.

For this model I choose Mississippi Alligator in Gold Honey finish. Rose gold has a warm, enveloping chromatic temperature — a leather with golden veining and natural grain speaks to that metal without mimicking it. I have seen dark leather pairings: they work less well, dampening the character of the piece rather than accompanying it.

With ordinary care — keeping it away from water, letting it breathe between wears — a well-built alligator strap lasts five to eight years. Good leather does not simply age: it evolves. The veining deepens, the colour develops layers. After a few years a fine strap carries the story of the wrist that wore it.

In 1972, Genta presented a sports watch in steel — or in this case rose gold — with an octagonal bezel and visible hexagonal screws. It was a direct challenge to the conventions of the time: a fine watchmaking piece that did not conceal its mechanics but displayed them as an aesthetic element. I have seen many imitators over the years. None has replicated that coherence between form and intention.
