Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case: there are no standard lugs to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The attachment is a proprietary geometry that requires a bespoke intervention. In the atelier, I build the strap directly on the watch, studying every detail of the white gold case.

I work by appointment only, at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements from the actual case — not from technical sheets — and build the attachment by hand. Every element is shaped to ensure a fluid continuity with the octagonal geometry of the Royal Oak.

I recommend Mississippi alligator with a gloss finish. White gold has a cool, precise character, and the alligator's symmetrical scale pattern works well with the rigid geometry of the octagonal bezel. It is a choice that balances elegance and structure without softening the character of the piece.

With minimal care, five to eight years of daily use. I recommend keeping it away from water and letting it breathe — alternating between two straps extends the life of both. Quality leather does not deteriorate: it ages, developing a patina that tells the story of the time spent on the wrist.

Gérald Genta drew it in 1972 in a single night, overturning the very idea of a luxury sports watch. The octagonal bezel with exposed screws and the Tapisserie bracelet form an architectural unit — it is not a coincidence or a cosmetic detail. I have handled many Royal Oaks over the years: that coherence between case and bracelet is exceptionally rare, and you feel it immediately to the touch.
