Strap for Royal Oak 33 Quartz White Gold / Diamond / Silver / Bracelet

Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the white gold case: the attachment is proprietary and a standard strap simply cannot be fitted. The only viable route is a bespoke piece, built directly from the actual case of the watch.

I work through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only. The watch comes into the atelier, I take the measurements directly from the case and build the attachment by hand, respecting the original geometry. There is no pre-made template: every piece starts from scratch on that specific example.

I recommend Mississippi alligator, finished in a neutral or cool grey tone. White gold has a discreet, almost dry light to it, and alligator accompanies it without overpowering it. I have seen softer leather pairings, but on a Royal Oak I prefer a leather with structure: it holds up better against the architectural character of the case.

A strap built with top-grade leather and solid stitching easily lasts eight to ten years with regular use. The key is care: keep the leather clean, away from direct water, and apply a neutral cream once a year. Alligator and Barenia do not deteriorate — they age, and with time they only become more interesting to look at.

Gérald Genta designed something unprecedented: a sports case in steel — or gold — with an integrated bracelet and eight visible hexagonal screws on the octagonal bezel. In 1972 it was a provocation, almost a categorical mistake. I have seen many watches pass through the bench over the years, and the Royal Oak remains one of the rare cases where form and function hold together without conceding anything to either.
