Strap for Royal Oak 67651 Quartz Pink Gold / Silver / Rubber

The bracelet on this Royal Oak is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach an off-the-shelf strap. It is a proprietary attachment, conceived by Genta as an inseparable part of the overall architecture. The only viable path is to build the strap to measure, directly on the watch, in the atelier.

I work through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the pink gold case, and construct the attachment millimetre by millimetre, adapting it to the original geometry. There are no pre-made templates: every piece is built from scratch, on that specific watch.

For a pink gold Royal Oak my choice goes to polished Mississippi Alligator: it speaks to the warmth of the metal without undermining the sporting character of the case. If the client wants something that changes with time and tells the years of wear, naturally aged Barenia is what I prefer. I avoid overly structured leathers — the octagonal bezel already carries its own weight.

A strap built from first-quality hides and hand-stitched easily lasts five to seven years of daily wear, sometimes longer. It depends on how it is treated: kept away from water, perfumes and creams, and ideally rotated with a second strap if worn frequently. Barenia, for instance, shows no sign of giving way — it ages, and does so gracefully.

When Genta drew it in 1972, a sports watch in steel at that price was a provocation. The octagonal bezel with exposed hexagonal screws was the opposite of prevailing taste — no one had done it quite like that before. I have seen many trends come and go at the bench over the years, and that geometry still holds everything together, without needing anything added.
