Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment: no standard strap fits without adaptation. In the atelier I build each strap directly on the watch, working from the actual geometry of the case.

I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the case, and shape the attachments by hand until the integration is right. There are no templates — every piece is made from scratch.

My clear preference is naturally aged Barenia. The Royal Oak has a precise character — sporting at heart, rigorous in form — and Barenia answers that with a texture that improves over time, without unnecessary flourishes. Against the polished and satin-finished steel of this watch, the natural tone of Barenia creates a contrast that makes genuine sense.

A strap built properly, with quality leather and strong thread, easily lasts five years of daily wear — often longer. Care is straightforward: keep it away from prolonged contact with water and condition the leather every few months. Barenia, for instance, develops a personal patina that reflects the years on the wrist — that is character, not wear.

Yes, and it shows in the structure. In 1972, Gérald Genta took a sporting case, enclosed it with an octagonal bezel and exposed screws, and used steel at a time when watches of that standing were made in gold. The 33mm ladies' reference maintains that same architectural logic — nothing is decorative by accident. It is a watch you wear, not one you display.
