Strap for Royal Oak 67620 Stainless Steel / Black / Rubber

Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case: there are no standard lugs to attach an off-the-shelf strap. In the atelier I build every strap directly on the watch, shaping the ends by hand to replicate the exact angle of the case. It is the only way to achieve a result that does not betray the original geometry.

I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. Bring the watch: I take measurements directly from the case, not from technical sheets. Each end piece is shaped by hand until the fit is continuous and invisible, as though it had always been there.

For a 33mm watch with this dual character — sporting in structure, refined in execution — I prefer Barenia d'Eccezione. It ages with grace, developing a warm patina that sits well alongside the polished steel of the case. I avoid leathers that are too stiff or heavily grained: they would break the visual rhythm of the Tapisserie dial.

With minimal care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure and conditioning it every few months with a good neutral balm — a quality leather strap easily lasts five or six years of daily wear. Barenia, in particular, does not deteriorate: it transforms. I have seen pieces that after years had developed a visual depth that new leather simply does not have yet.

Because it was a structural idea, not a decorative one. In 1972 Genta was not embellishing a watch: he was building a formal logic in which the octagonal bezel, visible screws and integrated bracelet support one another. Remove any one element and the whole argument collapses. It is this internal coherence that makes the Royal Oak so difficult to interpret with a casual strap — and so rewarding to reinterpret with care.
