Strap for Royal Oak 26603 Equation of Time Pink Gold / Silver

Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug where an off-the-shelf strap can be attached. The only way to replace the bracelet is to build a bespoke attachment, shaped directly around the geometry of this Royal Oak. It is work I carry out in the atelier, on the physical watch.

I work by appointment only, at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I take measurements directly from the pink gold case: no template exists that works for this model. Every attachment is shaped by hand to follow the original curves and geometry. The finished result integrates with the case as if it had left the manufacture that way.

I favour Mississippi alligator on this model. The Royal Oak has a strong, almost contradictory character: sporting in form, yet built in pink gold. Alligator holds that dual register better than any other leather. I always select skins from our private reserve, worked without treatments that would alter their natural hand.

A strap built from quality leather and hand-stitched will comfortably last five, eight, even ten years of regular wear. The leather does not deteriorate: it transforms. Alligator develops its own patina over time, one that reflects how it has been worn. Care is straightforward: keep it away from prolonged exposure to water and condition the leather every few months with a neutral product.

The octagonal case with its eight visible hexagonal screws is not decorative: it is structural, and it shapes everything that follows. When Gérald Genta drew it in 1972, he overturned the very idea of the luxury sports watch. Today, any intervention on the watch must reckon with that formal coherence. For me, respecting it is not a constraint: it is the starting point of the work.
