The Royal Oak 26343CE.OO.D002CA.01, seen from the bench

The Royal Oak was introduced in 1972 as the first luxury sports watch in steel. The reference 26343CE.OO.D002CA.01 features the automatic AP 2936 caliber with functions of hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph and tourbillon escapement. The movement offers a combination of chronograph complications and high-end mechanical watchmaking.

Frequently asked questions

Can a standard strap be fitted to the Royal Oak 26343CE.OO.D002CA.01?

No. The bracelet is integrated into the case: the attachment geometry is proprietary and a standard strap simply cannot connect. This is one of those pieces where bespoke work is not an option but the only route. In the atelier I build each terminal directly on the watch.

How does the bespoke strap process work for this Royal Oak Offshore in Cermet?

I work exclusively through Casati Milano, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I take the measurements directly from the case at the bench: each terminal is hand-shaped to follow the octagonal geometry of the attachment. There is no template — every strap that leaves the atelier is built for that specific piece.

Which leather do I recommend for this model?

For a watch with a titanium and anthracite ceramic case, my choice is Mississippi Alligator treated with oil and a matte finish. The sporting character of this Royal Oak Offshore calls for a leather with presence, not shine. Naturally aged Barenia is another interesting option: over time it develops a patina that works well with the grey tones of the case.

How long does a well-made strap last?

A strap built with top-grade leather and hand-stitched will easily last eight to ten years with proper care. The rule is straightforward: avoid prolonged exposure to water and let it breathe between wearings. Quality leathers do not deteriorate — they age, and often after a few years they carry a character the new version never had.

What makes the Cermet unique in this Royal Oak Offshore?

Cermet is the result of a high-temperature fusion of titanium and ceramic: it is not a coating, it is a material transformation of the case itself. That anthracite grey tone you see is not a colour applied to the surface. I have seen many sporting watches over the years, but few have this consistency between material and the octagonal form that Genta originally conceived.

The next step

The right strap isn't chosen. It is built, together.

From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
