No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no traditional lug to attach a standard strap. The attachment is proprietary and requires a solution built specifically for this watch. In the atelier I shape every terminal on the actual watch, not on a template.

I work exclusively by appointment at my <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a> atelier, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. The watch comes to the bench and I take measurements directly from the case — no estimates, no approximations. The terminal is shaped by hand until it sits flush with the octagonal geometry of the bezel without any forcing.

My preference is naturally aged Barenia: it has a firm hand that suits the weight of a white gold case, and it develops a patina that gradually becomes part of the watch. For a more formal look, slate grey Swift works very well with white gold without overpowering it. I avoid overly soft leathers — the structure of the Royal Oak calls for a material with its own character.

A strap in Barenia or Alligator, worked correctly, easily lasts five to eight years of regular wear — sometimes longer. Care is straightforward: keep it away from prolonged exposure to water and let it breathe between wears. Quality leather does not deteriorate with time, it changes: the patina that forms is the sign that the material is alive.

In 1972, Gérald Genta did something nobody expected: he took steel — the material of divers' watches — and turned it into a dress piece. This reference in white gold takes that same logic of contradiction to its furthest conclusion. The eight hexagonal screws and the guilloché tapisserie are not decoration: they are the structure. This is a watch that does not try to appear luxurious — it simply is, by construction.
