Strap for Royal Oak Chronograph 41 QE II

The bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach a conventional strap. The attachment is part of the watch's architecture, not a removable accessory. In the atelier, I build the strap directly on the watch, made to measure, with no shortcuts.

I work through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I take the watch to the bench, measure directly from the case, and build the lugs respecting the original hexagonal geometry. This cannot be done remotely — this kind of work requires the watch physically in hand.

My preference is clear: slow-tanned Tuscan leather. The brushed titanium has a restrained, almost military character, and a leather that ages with discretion suits it far better than any showy exotic skin. Tuscan leather wears with quiet confidence, moulds to the wrist over time, and does not compete with the case — it accompanies it.

With quality leather and basic care, I expect five to seven years of daily wear. Keep it away from prolonged water exposure and let it dry away from heat sources. A well-tanned leather does not deteriorate: it transforms, becomes more personal. That is the kind of ageing I look for.

Gérald Genta drew it in 1972 in a single night, taking inspiration from a nautical porthole. The titanium case of this reference pushes that logic further still: structural lightness without sacrificing rigour. This is not a sports watch softened to please everyone — it has a precise, hexagonal geometry that makes no apologies.
