No. The Royal Oak's bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach an aftermarket strap. The fitting is proprietary and requires a terminal built specifically around the octagonal case geometry. In the atelier I build every strap directly on the watch, with no guesswork.

I work through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I take measurements directly from the client's case — no templates, no averages. Each terminal is shaped by hand to integrate with the octagonal yellow gold case, respecting the proportions of the original bracelet.

For a yellow gold Royal Oak I prefer polished Mississippi alligator: it holds its own against the strong character of the case and complements the warm tone of the gold without mimicking the original bracelet. I have seen too many timid pairings on this watch. It needs a leather with its own presence.

A strap made from quality leather and hand-stitched easily lasts five to seven years of daily wear, sometimes longer. The leather ages: alligator softens, Barenia develops a patina that tells its story over time. Care is straightforward — keep it away from prolonged exposure to water and let it breathe between wearings.

Gérald Genta's 1972 design was conceived as a single unit: octagonal case, exposed hexagonal screws on the bezel, and the Tapisserie bracelet form one continuous body. Interrupting that flow with a poorly built terminal is immediately obvious, even to someone unfamiliar with the watch. That is why I accept no compromise on the fitting: either the terminal integrates as if it were always there, or it does not leave the atelier.
