Strap for Royal Oak Chronograph 41 Pink Gold / Blue / Alligator

On this Royal Oak, the bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no standard lug to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The watch was designed that way, and that deserves respect. At the atelier I build the strap on the watch itself, shaping every join by hand, millimetre by millimetre.

I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I take measurements directly from the case at the bench — no templates, no estimates. Every transition piece is built to follow the original bracelet curvature, so the flow between gold and leather remains as fluid as Genta's design intended.

For a Royal Oak in rose gold I would choose Mississippi Alligator with a large, structured scale. The architectural character of this watch calls for a leather with real presence, not a timid texture. Rose gold warms every natural tone of the reptile in a way I have rarely seen with other materials.

A strap built from top-grade leather and hand-stitched will easily last six to eight years of daily wear — sometimes considerably more. Quality leather does not deteriorate: it ages, builds a patina, tells the story of time on the wrist. The only real care is keeping it away from prolonged moisture and letting it breathe between wearings.

It is the structure: the octagonal bezel, the exposed hexagonal screws, the Tapisserie dial. In 1972 Genta took the vocabulary of heavy industry and rendered it in gold. On a 41 mm rose gold chronograph that tension between formal brutality and precious material does not soften — it intensifies. I have seen many watches at the bench: very few have this internal coherence between form and character.
