Gérald Genta did something very precise: he took stainless steel, a material associated with sports watches, and constructed it with the formal discipline of fine watchmaking. The eight hexagonal screws on the bezel are not decorative — they keep the case water-resistant. The integrated architecture between case and bracelet was an engineering solution before it was a stylistic choice. I have seen many watches pass through the bench over the years: few have that internal coherence.
