The Royal Oak's lug attachment is an integral part of the case design: an off-the-shelf strap produced in series cannot replicate the original lug geometry. A strap is entirely achievable, built to measure directly on the watch by <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, where every connection point is physically measured before work begins.

The process begins with an in-atelier session during which the master craftsman takes direct measurements from the client's watch lugs. From that survey, a unique pattern is created: the strap is built on that specific timepiece, respecting its profile, curve and transition thickness. No pre-existing templates are used — the starting point is always the watch itself.

Cordovan in cognac or tobacco tones is the leather that best complements the chromatic warmth of rose gold: its dense grain develops a mirror-like patina that echoes the polish of the metal. Alternatively, a matte alligator in terracotta or dark anthracite keeps the texture visible without competing with the case's octagonal architecture.

A strap built with first-grade leathers, silk or linen stitching and noble-metal hardware lasts decades with proper care: kept away from prolonged moisture and periodically treated with appropriate leather cream. Unlike mass-produced straps, there are no cost-saving stitches or structural adhesives likely to fail over time — every element is engineered to endure.

The AP 2385 integrates a column-wheel chronograph — a high-grade construction that delivers precise engagement at start and stop while reducing wear on components compared to more common cam-based systems. Hours, minutes, small seconds and date complete the specification, all within a manufacture movement designed and produced entirely in-house by Audemars Piguet.
