Strap for Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Stainless Steel / Blue

The bracelet of the Royal Oak 25820ST.OO.0944ST.05 is integrated into the case with a proprietary geometry. A standard strap has no way of attaching. I build one to measure, directly on the watch, in the atelier.

I work by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench and take measurements directly from the case, with no guesswork. Every lug is shaped by hand to follow the original curve of the bracelet.

I prefer naturally aged Barenia. The Royal Oak has a sporting but rigorous character, and Barenia develops a patina over time that suits that dual register. It does not shout — it grows with the watch. Mississippi Alligator is the alternative for those who want more visual structure.

With a quality leather and basic care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure, letting it breathe — I comfortably reach five or six years of daily wear. Barenia and Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather age well: the hide softens, takes the shape of the wrist, becomes more beautiful. An industrial strap falls apart in the same time.

In 1972, Gérald Genta designed a bracelet that flows from the case with no visible interruption — it is part of the architecture, not a separate accessory. That continuity of form is what makes any alternative a genuine tailoring exercise. Cutting the leather is not enough: you need to understand how the octagonal case ends and build the lug accordingly, millimetre by millimetre.
