During a dedicated appointment at the atelier, the craftsman examines the watch in person and records all attachment measurements directly from the case. Using these real dimensions — not generic data — the connecting bridge and the entire strap are built, calibrated to the specific geometry of that individual piece. The client selects material, colour, finish and closure system during the session.

Mississippi alligator with a gloss finish engages with the Grande Tapisserie dial through a deep, regular grain that responds to light in a similar manner. A well-made strap is restored, not simply replaced.

The AP 7121 is an in-house, manually wound movement developed by Audemars Piguet to be ultra-thin: it is precisely this reduced height that allows the Royal Oak case to maintain the slender profile Gérald Genta conceived in 1972. Without a movement of these proportions, the iconic architecture — integrated lugs and flowing bracelet — would not be structurally feasible. It displays hours, minutes and date with the functional simplicity consistent with the model's aesthetic.
