No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no standard lug to attach a conventional strap. This is a deliberate design decision by Audemars Piguet, not something that can be worked around with adapters. If you want a strap on this watch, I build it by hand, to measure, directly on the case, in the atelier.

I work exclusively by appointment, at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I take measurements directly from the case at the bench and build every element of the attachment by hand, for that specific watch. There are no templates — each piece is made from scratch.

On a transparent case like this one, I prefer naturally aged Barenia: it has a quietness that does not compete with the visual structure of the watch, and over time it develops a patina that speaks of use without shouting. Mississippi alligator, selected from our private reserve, is the other choice I often make for this model — its fine grain works well with the architectural precision of the octagonal case.

A strap built with first-grade leather and hand-stitched will easily last eight to ten years of regular wear. Leather asks very little: keep it away from water, let it breathe, and apply a neutral wax occasionally. It ages, yes — but it ages well, gaining character rather than falling apart.

Gérald Genta designed the octagonal case in 1972 as a visible, almost architectural structure. With the transparent sapphire version, Audemars Piguet took that logic to its conclusion: the case no longer contains the movement — it puts it on display. Every gear is readable from the outside. It is a radical statement that demands extraordinary manufacturing precision, because there is nothing left to conceal.
