Frequently asked questions

Can a strap be fitted to the Royal Oak 15510OR.OO.D315CR.01?

The bracelet is integrated into the case: it is part of Gérald Genta's original design and cannot be removed like a standard bracelet. A regular strap has no way of attaching. I build one to measure, directly on the watch, in the atelier.

How does the bespoke strap service work for this Royal Oak?

I work by appointment only at Casati Milano, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the original case, and shape every attachment by hand. There is no template: each strap is built from scratch on that specific piece.

Which leather do I recommend for this Royal Oak in pink gold?

I lean towards Mississippi Alligator: the natural grain speaks well to the octagonal geometry of the case, and the warm tone of the pink gold finds an interesting counterpoint in a deep tobacco brown or dark bordeaux. Barenia is another route I enjoy — it ages with a rare character and suits the sporting-elegant nature of this watch.

How long does a well-made strap last?

With minimal care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure, wiping it down after use — five to seven years are easily achievable. Quality leather does not deteriorate: it transforms. Alligator and Barenia develop a patina over time that tells the story of the person who wore them.

Why is the integrated bracelet considered so central to the Royal Oak's design?

When Genta drew the Royal Oak in 1972, the integrated bracelet was not an accessory: it was the backbone of the entire architecture. Case and bracelet flowed as a single object, something never seen before on a sport watch. On this pink gold version, that visual continuity becomes even more striking — breaking it with an anonymous strap is a mistake I would never allow myself to make.
