Strap for Royal Oak Extra-Thin Platinum / Green

Not in the traditional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case: the attachment is proprietary and a standard strap simply does not fit. In the atelier I build each strap directly on the watch, to the millimetre, with no adapters involved.

I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, in Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the case and shape every lug by hand, respecting the original curvature. The result is a fit that looks as though it was always part of the watch.

I choose naturally aged Barenia. Platinum has a cold, restrained light, and Barenia responds with warmth without being loud. Over time it develops a patina that tells the story of use — exactly what a strap on a watch like this should do. It is a leather that grows with the person wearing it.

With minimal care — keeping it away from prolonged contact with water and conditioning the leather twice a year — I easily reach ten years of active life. Barenia and alligator age with dignity: they do not deteriorate, they transform. A well-constructed strap is not replaced, it is accompanied.

The 15202 is the direct descendant of the original Royal Oak of 1972, the one Gérald Genta drew. It retains the original 39mm diameter and minimal thickness — a decision that went against everything that came after it. Platinum adds weight and chromatic restraint to an architecture that, after fifty years, needs no introduction. I have seen many Royal Oaks on my bench: this one has a quiet presence the others do not.
