Strap for Royal Oak 15000 Date Stainless Steel / Blue

Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment: a standard strap simply does not fit. For this reason, every strap I make for this watch is built directly onto the case, at the atelier, starting from the actual geometry of the lugs.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the angles and thickness of the attachments, then build the strap by shaping the leather directly on the case. No measurements taken remotely: the watch must be physically present.

For the Royal Oak 15000ST I recommend natural Barenia, worked without any covering finish. This Royal Oak has a sporting soul but a rigorous construction: Barenia ages with character, developing a patina that tells the story of wear without ever looking neglected. It is the leather that, in my view, best honours the balance between rigour and warmth this watch embodies.

A strap built from quality leather, with solid stitching and proper lining, lasts between five and ten years of daily wear. Care makes the difference: keeping it away from prolonged water exposure and occasionally conditioning the leather is enough to keep it in good shape. I have seen twenty-year-old Barenia straps wearing better than industrial ones at six months.

The 15000ST has a case diameter of 33mm, a size that is rarely found in current production. Gérald Genta designed the Royal Oak in 1972 with precise proportions, and this reference honours them without chasing the trend for larger cases. To my mind, it is one of the most honest examples of how a well-conceived design needs no enlargement to remain relevant.
