With solid leather and proper craftsmanship, expect 4-5 years of heavy use, even 6-7 with care. The leather ages, of course: it darkens, softens, shows signs of wear. That's not a flaw, that's character. An occasional clean with a damp cloth and yearly conditioning keeps it in shape.
