Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a standard strap on the Omega Constellation 1841.55.11?

No, the bracelet is integrated into the case and doesn't accept a standard strap. The attachment is proprietary Omega. If you want to change it, I craft a bespoke strap directly in the workshop, taking measurements from your case.

How does the bespoke strap work for this model?

Come to the Atelier Casati Milano, by appointment. I take measurements directly from the case and the geometry of the griffes. I craft the attachment by hand, millimetre by millimetre, so the strap integrates perfectly with the original design.

Which leather do you recommend for the Constellation 1841.55.11?

I prefer Mississippi Alligator or naturally aged Barenia. This watch has a sporty-elegant character, designed in the 1950s: robust yet refined leather stands the test of time and ages beautifully, showing no fatigue. Alligator feels soft to the touch, Barenia develops patina.

How long does a well-made strap last?

With ordinary wear and minimal care — wipe now and then with a damp cloth, don't deliberately soak it — it lasts 5 to 7 years. Leather ages beautifully: colour deepens, fibres soften. It's up to you whether you want to condition it afterwards.

Why does the Constellation have this distinctive look, with griffes around the crystal?

The griffes have been the Constellation's trademark since 1952: four sculptural claws that embrace and protect the crystal. It's architecture, not decoration. That geometry demands a strap designed precisely for it, not improvised — that's why I always work bespoke with this model.
