No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there are no standard lugs to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The attachment is proprietary to Audemars Piguet, with an octagonal geometry that rules out generic solutions. In the atelier, I build the strap to measure, working directly on the watch.

I bring the watch to the bench, study the geometry of the attachments and take every measurement directly from the case. There are no templates: each strap is made from scratch for that specific piece.

For a watch with this sporting, structured character, I prefer matte-finish Mississippi alligator: it holds up on the wrist in movement and complements the exposed hexagonal screws without competing with them. If the use is more urban and formal, aged Barenia develops a patina over time that works beautifully with the steel and blue dial.

With quality leather and proper craftsmanship, five or six years of intensive wear is a realistic reference. Care makes all the difference: keeping it away from prolonged water exposure and letting it breathe between uses slows wear considerably. Alligator and Barenia do not deteriorate — they age, and often improve.

Gérald Genta designed the Royal Oak in 1972 as a slender watch, almost formal in its octagonal geometry. In 1993, the Offshore took that same architecture and made it muscular: larger case, a completely different presence on the wrist. I have seen many sports watches over the years, but few have such a clear coherence between form and intention.
