Universal Swiss Double Flange Spring Bars 13-26mm
€16,00
Universal Double Flange spring bar set in 316L stainless steel, 1.8mm diameter, sizes from 13mm to 26mm. The double internal flange is the detail that sets them apart: two retention points on the spring instead of one, and the pin will not unscrew under lateral torsion.
316L is surgical steel — the same Rolex uses on its cases. It resists oxidation better than common stainless steel and leaves no traces on the caseback during removal. The 1.8mm pin diameter covers the majority of Swiss brand lugs: Omega, Tudor, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Longines, Hamilton, Oris.
For those who work on straps as I do, this is the reserve set. Three or four sizes used every week, the others resting in the drawer until a rare watch arrives.

The joy of little things
Changing your strap should be as simple as changing your shoes. With us, it is.
Every strap has integrated quick-release spring bars: swap it in one gesture, no tools, no risk of scratching the lugs. The same watch shifts mood with the moment.

But does 316L really hold better than regular stainless steel, or is it just marketing?
No, it’s not marketing. 316L has more molybdenum, which makes it more corrosion-resistant — it’s what Rolex uses on cases. You see the difference over time: with common stainless steel after months of humidity you start seeing small spots, with 316L you don’t. And when you remove the caseback, the pin doesn’t leave dark marks on the case, which is the classic issue.
These spring bars work fine for all my Swiss watches, or do I need to check case by case?
The 1.8mm pin covers most of them: Omega, Tudor, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Longines, Hamilton, Oris. But it’s not universal — there are exceptions. If you have watches with unusual lugs or vintage pieces, better measure the hole diameter first. The dual flange though is the real advantage here: it holds better than a simple spring, it won’t rotate under torsion.
Why two flanges instead of one? I mean, does it really make a practical difference?
Yes. With a single flange the pin can rotate if you twist the strap while installing it — that’s what happens with cheap spring bars. With two contact points the pin stays put. If you work on straps like I do, you notice right away: fewer accidental dismounts, less frustration.
Does the set cover all the sizes I need every day, or should I plan on adding other sizes later?
Depends on how many watches you work on. My experience: three or four sizes you use every week, the rest sit in a drawer for months until a rare watch shows up with that specific size. If you only work on four or five watches, you probably don’t use even half the range. But if it’s to have the complete set, you’ve got it.
Are these spring bars compatible with shell cordovan or alligator straps, or just for metal?
Spring bars are the mechanism that connects any strap to the case — leather, rubber, metal, whatever you want. These are the replacement part, they work with all straps. The real compatibility is with the watch’s lugs, not with the strap material.
