Vitello Empreinte

Il Vitello Empreinte è la pelle caratteristica di Louis Vuitton: vitello pieno fiore con rilievo monogrammatico inciso in superficie. Concia vegetale o mista, grana marcata e tattile. Resistente ma delicato—perfetto per chi vuole il cinturino che racconta una storia. Usato storicamente su borse iconiche LV, ha quella struttura che non scivola sul polso. Su cinturini da orologio—penso a Rolex Submariner 40mm, Omega Seamaster, IWC Pilot—dona eleganza sportiva-formale. Spessore medio-alto (1.4-1.6mm), adatta bene ai lug 20-22mm. La texture in rilievo lo rende meno predisposto ai graffi visibili rispetto a box calf liscio. Invecchia discretamente, sviluppando patina naturale nei punti di contatto. Richiede manutenzione consapevole: non ama il cloro e l'esposizione solare diretta prolungata.

Bei der IWC Pilot's Watch 41mm zählt es doppelt: das monogrammatische Relief unterstreicht die Geometrie des Zifferblatts. Auf einer Vintage-Dress-Watch mit 36mm wird es fast zum Schmuckstück.
Reinige alle 2-3 Wochen mit einem weichen, leicht feuchten Tuch (destilliertes Wasser). Pflege alle 3-4 Monate mit neutralem Wachs oder Wachsöl—kein Tierfett, das die Atmung des Leders blockiert. Vermeide Chlor, längeren salzigen Schweiß, direkte Sonne über Stunden. Das Relief schützt es eigentlich: Kratzer sind weniger sichtbar als bei glattem Kalbsleder. Mit Sorgfalt altert ein Empreinte wunderschön.
Fast. Empreinte ist der technische Begriff für das eingeprägte Reliefverfahren. Louis Vuitton wendet es auf Kalbsleder an (Empreinte Calf) mit dem charakteristischen LV-Monogramm. Im Atelier meine ich mit 'Empreinte' genau diese spezifische Gerbung auf diesem Kalbsleder. Für Uhrenarmbänder suche ich LV-Stücke im Lager oder Kunden, die Vintage-Taschen mitbringen: unbedruckt findet man es selten, da es eine eingetragene Marke ist.
